BRYAN -- Leo Leroy "Roy" Brust, 79 years, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012, in his residence following an extended illness.

Roy was born February 17, 1933, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, the son of the late Leo and Annie (McQueen) Brust. He married Dorothy Dedie on February 2, 1952, in Shepherd, Michigan and they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Roy started his career as a pipeliner for Swetnam Pipeline in Michigan. This job brought him to Ohio in 1954. In 1974, he purchased Swetnam

Pipeline and changed the name to L.L. Brust Pipeline. Roy was a respected, hard-working bus-

inessman who loved his job and the many great people he worked with. He successfully owned and operated L.L. Brust Pipeline until he sold the business in 1990. The sale of the business and retirement did not slow Roy down. He continued to work as an independent owner/operator of Brust Trucking until his health declined a few years ago. His strong work ethic was admired by his family and friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He looked forward to watching the races and calling his brother, Bob, to discuss the race of the week. He loved to spend time with his family, deer hunting and camping at "Buckeye Paradise," the family property in Michigan. He was a member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1064.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy of Bryan; four daughters, Jeanie (Henry) Lange of Bryan, Cheryl (Bob) Coopman of Bryan, Judy (Don Bingman) Hageman of Bryan and Ronda (Chris) Thompson of Gresham, Oregon; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Brust of Lansing, Michigan and Jerry Brust of Indianapolis, Indiana; and half-brother, Dick McQueen of Portland, Michigan. He was loved by his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
