Joan Yetter

Joan R. Yetter, 83, of Defiance, passed away Saturday morning, December 8, 2012, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

She was born September 2, 1929, to Lawrence Sr. and Wilma (Schlatter) Grime in Archbold, Ohio. Joan married Virgil Yetter on February 19, 1950, in Archbold, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Lois (Marvin) Retcher, Defiance; a grandson, Ryan (Evette) Retcher, New Albany, Ohio; a great-granddaughter, Addison Retcher, New Albany; a sister, Isabelle Boucher, Bryan; two brothers, Lawrence (Arlene) Grime Jr. and Arden (Mary) Grime, both of Archbold.

Joan was a member of Emanuel's Christian Church, New Bavaria, and worked at the JCPenney store in Defiance for 39 years. She loved to travel and went to many places throughout the United States and Europe.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 11, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. at the Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Rev. Edgar Briggerman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
