PAYNE -- Ernest D. Harshman, 75, Payne, died Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born March 3, 1937, in Payne, Ohio, the son of David W. and Bertha (Miller) Harshman. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Payne, Eagles Aerie 2405 in Paulding and Moose Lodge of Van Wert. He retired in 2002 from Payne Equity Exchange Company and was previously employed by Homier's Implements.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Fran (Jim) Litzenberg; granddaughter, Rachelle Litzenberg; and great-grandson, all of Indialantic, Fla.; a sister, Joyce Barrand, Payne; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary M. Pickford; two brothers, Paul E. Harshman, and Harold Harshman; a sister, Kathryn Bruns; and a great-grandson, David Lee Litzenberg-Loftin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 7, at St. Paul United Methodist, Payne, Ohio. Burial will follow in Lehman Cemetery, Payne. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 6, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
