PAULDING -- Ernest Fanklin "Frank" Rike, 88, Paulding, died Sunday, November 18, 2012, at his residence.
He was born February 22, 1924, in Hamler, Ohio, the son of Harley R. and Ida L. (Aderman) Rike. On May 26, 1949, he married Leona Rae Harrison, who survives. He was employed by Paulding County Department of Soil and Water Conservation, retiring in 2003, and previously was owner operator of Rike Equipment in Dafter, Michigan. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran, serving during World War II, and a member of Paulding United Methodist Church and Gideon's International.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Rike, Paulding; a daughter, Laura (Kurt) Laplander of Clairmont, Minn.; two sons, Eric (Susan) Rike of Lowell, Mich., and Mick (Dawn) Rike of Castle Rock, Colo.; a sister, Betty Bishop, Hamler, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dawn Marie Rike; a brother, Raymond "Pete" Rike; and a sister, Norma Rader.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, November 23, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. until time of services on Friday.
