Basketball recruit signs with Chambers, Penn State

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- New Penn State basketball coach Patrick Chambers signed his second recruit on Wednesday, forward Brandon Taylor.

Listed at 6-foot-8, and 235 pounds, Taylor, a native of Tabernacle, N.J., joins guard D.J. Newbill, who transferred to Penn State from Southern Miss in August.

"Brandon is a great kid who comes from a great family and is serious about his academics and getting his degree," Chambers said. "Basketball wise, he is a terrific player who can post up, shoot 3s, has a very high basketball IQ and has a Big Ten-ready body. He will make an immediate impact."

Taylor helped Trenton Catholic Academy to a 2010 state title.
