Andrew Helmke II, 9, of Defiance, got this 8-point buck with a shotgun on Dec. 2, 2012, around the area of Jewell. Andy Helmke, 34, of Defiance, got this 11-point buck with a crossbow on Nov. 16, 2012, around the Napoleon area. Austin Weisenburger, 13, of Defiance, got this buck with a crossbow on Oct. 28, 2012, south of Defiance. This was Austin's first deer. The description reads: "Austin really enjoys the fact that he is putting meat on the table for the family and loves the jerky we made from it as well." Auston Hosler, 16, of Columbus Grove, got this 12-point buck with a shotgun on Dec. 1, 2012, around the Defiance-Putnam County line. The field dressed weight was 155 pounds. He said it is the "biggest buck I've shot so far. I plan to hunt the rest of my life." Keith West, of Antwerp, go this 9-point buck on Nov. 16, 2012, north of Antwerp using a Horton crossbow. The field dressed weight was 181 pounds. West got this whitetail just six days short of his 66th birthday. Michael Cline, of Hicksville, got this 11-point buck on Dec. 1, 2012, using a 20 gauge shotgun in northwest Defiance County. The field dressed weight was 185 pounds. Cline indicated it was a 150-160 inch non-typical 11-point ... Cline wrote: "He's getting mounted!" Marv Young, of Defiance, got this 9-point buck on Nov. 26, 2012, near Ayersville. He used a shotgun. Steve Sondergaard, of Defiance, used a shotgun to get this 8-point buck on Nov. 26, 2012, near Ney. It was his first buck kill. The field dressed weight was 120 pounds. Zachary Rensi, 16, of Defiance, used a compound bow to get this 18-point buck on Nov. 9, 2012, in Paulding County. Marv Young, of Defiance, got this 8-point buck in Ohio. Daryl Beck, of Archbold, bagged this 12-point buck on Nov. 3, 2012, in eastern Williams County with a bow. It's field dressed weight was 175. Ashton Niese, 9, of rural Napoleon, took advantage of practicing with a crossbow and learning hunting safety this summer by bagging an 8-point buck near Napoleon on the opening weekend of bow season. He was sitting next to his father, Adam, in a deer stand when he bagged the buck on Sept. 30. with his first youth apprentice hunting license and deer tag. Alexandria Smith, 11, of Paulding, used a shotgun to get this doe on Nov. 17, 2012, south of Defiance. This was Alexandria's first deer hunt. She went with her grandfather, Greg Frederick. The field dressed weight of the doe was 115 pounds. Gavin Berner, 13, of Defiance, got this nontypical 14-point buck in southeast Defiance County. He used a 20-gauge shotgun.
