Napoleon, Ohio: Plans are underway for the Eighth Annual Filling Fall Fling to be held on Saturday, November 3rd, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.. The members of the Filling Home Women’s Guild have been hard at work getting ready for this community-wide event in support of the work of the Filling Homes. The event will be held in the Hanson Activity Center on Filling Home’s main campus located on Route 108 two miles south of the Henry county fairgrounds.
This fun filled event will feature live entertainment, including the Happy Times Polka Band, There will be games and crafts activities for the kids provided by members of Filling Homes physical therapy staff and residents. Delicious food will be served including brats from Herm’s Sausage Shop, sauerkraut, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, home-made pies, and soft drinks. It’s fun for the whole family!
Admission is free of charge, with freewill offerings accepted for the food and entertainment. A silent auction, containing many handmade craft items and donated merchandise, will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. with a live auction beginning at 2:00 p.m. There will be a bake sale conducted throughout the entire day. . Once again we have many interesting and unique items for the Silent and Live Auctions that include hand crafted items and merchandize donated from individuals and businesses in Henry, Fulton, Defiance, and Williams counties. You must come to see for yourself the variety and quality of these items.
All proceeds will go to support Filling Homes programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the Adaptive Equipment and Personal Assistance Fund which aids in providing the vital mobility assistance devices used by the residents of the Filling Home.. Over the years, the generosity of our supporters has raised more than $80,000.00, which has helped the residents stay active and mobile.
The Women’s Guild is a service auxiliary supporting the ministry of Filling Home. There are close to 300 members belonging to the Guild, coming from northwestern Ohio and as far away as Delaware, Ohio. Since 1964 the Guild members have generously volunteered their assistance to enhance the lives of the children and adults with developmental disabilities who have received services from the Filling Home.
