Oklahoma City, OK (June 28, 2012) ―The National Association of Health Care Assistants (NAHCA) is pleased to announce that a Defiance, Ohio Caregiver was recently honored at the 18th annual “Key to Quality” Awards Banquet held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 28, 2012. NAHCA member Diane Reed was the recipient of the “Resident Service Commitment Award”. The recipient of this award was chosen for their commitment to their residents. This is a member who takes extra effort and sacrifice to be there for the double and triple shifts, the snow days, stays over to read, or visits a needy resident. This person puts the residents above all others. Diane was selected from over 36,000 NAHCA members for this award.

It was expressed at the awards banquet that: “Diane’s dedication to excellent customer service is apparent in every task she completes, every note she documents. An example of her attitude and commitment can be shown by the following story: An out of state family member of a long term resident came to visit and wanted to take her aunt out to lunch. Unfortunately, the resident was physically unable to get into the family SUV; and without hesitation, Diane offered her own car to this family member she’d never met. The family member and resident were so grateful they were able to go and share a meal together. Recently Diane was offered and accepted an assignment to the skilled rehab wing. This is an assignment that is given to the “best of the best” and she clearly fits that description. Twin Rivers would take a dozen Diane’s and are proud to nominate her for this award!”

NAHCA is a professional association representing caregivers and long term care facilities in the United States. The association has over 800 member facilities and over 36,000 individual members. For more information About NAHCA visit their website at: www.nahcacareforce.org
