Dutchwoman Wust leads at European Championship


HEERENVEEN, Netherlands (AP) -- Dutch speedskaters Irene Wust and Sven Kramer lead at the European Championships after Saturday's races.

Wust won the 3,000-meter in 4 minutes, 1.25 seconds, beating four-time champion Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic by 2.43 seconds.

Wust also took fourth place in the 500, which was won by Czech racer Karolina Erbanova in 38.72 seconds.

Dutchwomen hold the overall top four spots before the 1,500 and 3,000 races on Sunday.

Poland's Konrad Niedzwiedzki won the men's 1,500 in 1:46.32.

Five-time champion Kramer finished eighth, but remains more than 5 seconds ahead in the overall standings after dominating the 5,000 on Friday.

The men's 10,000 is Sunday.
