NANCY, France (AP) -- Relegation battler Nancy says coach Jean Fernandez has left the club.
Nancy, which is in last place in the French league, did not give further details as to why Fernandez left Friday, but the 58-year-old coach spoke days earlier about feeling exasperated with the attitude of some players.
He will be replaced by Patrick Gabriel, a member of the club's training academy.
Nancy captain Andre Luiz has also decided to leave and will play his last match against Lille on Saturday before returning to Brazil after eight years at the club.
Meanwhile, Nancy president Jacques Rousselot says that "four or five" players are for sale but that he won't sell them cheaply and "the club must get a fair price."
