NEW YORK (AP) -- Comments on the Cincinnati Bengals by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
___
CINCINNATI BENGALS (11)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 13) -- Huge moment for Bengals clinching playoffs in Pittsburgh. First time back-to-back postseasons since 1981-82.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 7) -- Making playoffs and beating Steelers was huge step for young team.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 12)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 10) -- Back to back postseason appearances doesn't happen all that often for this franchise, well done!
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 12) -- Marvin Lewis gets to his second straight playoff berth for the first time as a head coach and does so in style, beating the AFC North rival Steelers on the road.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 11) -- The Bengals are in the playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons. That makes Marvin Lewis the early front-runner for coach of the decade.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 12) -- Go ahead and knock Marvin Lewis. All I know is that in two seasons with Andy Dalton he reached the playoffs twice ... and this time he got there the hard way: Through Pittsburgh.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 9) -- Back-to-back playoff berths and a vow to go deep this time around.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 10) -- Finally an Andy Dalton-led win over the Steelers. The Bengals defense is dangerous with that pass rush as well.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 11)
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 11) -- The Bengals have 92 sacks and counting in 2011 and 2012. The previous four seasons combined? 100.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 12) -- They are locked in as the sixth seed in the playoffs, but Marvin Lewis is saying they won't put their feet up and coast this week.
