Obama leads in Ohio presidential vote

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- President Barack Obama is holding a narrow lead over Republican Mitt Romney in Ohio, a pivotal battleground state in their nail-bitingly close president race.

With about half of the vote reported, Obama leads by some 85,000 votes in unofficial results. There are still many precinct totals unreported from some key areas of the state.

The Democrat is trying to carry Ohio a second time, creating a firewall against Romney's effort to unseat him.

Both sides poured major time and money into the closely watched state, adding campaign visits in the final days and even hours before the polls closed Tuesday evening.
