CHARDON, Ohio (AP) -- Tearful students walking hand in hand headed back to an Ohio high school where a shooting rampage left three dead and two wounded earlier this week.

Hundreds of students, many of them accompanied by parents or guardians, left the main square in Chardon for the nearly one-mile walk to Chardon High School Thursday morning.

The students started the day gathered around a courthouse square gazebo, many wearing the school colors of red and black, and quietly sang the alma mater.

Students hugged each other and parents as they left the gazebo, which is decorated with a growing memorial of candles, flowers and handwritten messages of support.
